GET RID OF THOSE WEIGHTS!

Have you ever tried running with weights tied to your ankle?  Well, it would be like something near mission impossible, wouldn’t it, with your mind raring to eat up those miles and your body lagging behind because some weights just won’t let you get on with it.

Many of us set goals for ourselves, with very good intentions to follow them through.  However, one of the reasons why we don’t achieve what we set out to is because of the weights we let into our lives.

Now, weights are not necessarily bad or evil things, but they are those things in your life that easily distract you.  They subtly take over and cause us to take our eyes off our goals.  At the end of the year we are left wondering where the days all went.

The weights that slow us down differ from person to person; for some it could be TV (home videos are such subtle time-wasters), for others it could be the time spent on the Internet.  Others may find that it is too much time spent “hanging out” with friends while for others it’s too much time spent sleeping or other habits that have crept up on you.  Each person has to do the work of finding out what those weighs are in his/her life, but for everyone the effects are the same: time wasted, momentum and zeal lost, inability to follow through with what you set out to achieve and regrets when you take stock at the end of the year.

There’s still time to locate those weights and deal with them, and there’s only one thing to do: GET RID OF THEM AND START HEADING FOR THE FINISH LINE!
